SEWA is a member of the European Recycling Platform (ERP), which provides the fulfillment of the legal obligations of manufacturers for electronics, packaging and batteries across Europe.
ERP provides solutions for manufacturers in 32 countries. Manufacturers placing electronics, packaging or batteries on the markets of several countries can fulfill their obligations through the EuropePlus solution package, which simplifies registration and collection obligations in several countries in a harmonized way.

For more than 13 years, we have been helping to protect the environment and meet legal standards for manufacturers of electrical equipment. We are trusted by more than 600 manufacturers and importers of electrical equipment, for whom we also fulfill obligations in the commodities of batteries and accumulators, packaging and non-packaged products.
Memorandum of understanding with the aim of establishing a collective organization for electronic waste – SEWA (Slovak Electronic Waste Agency) between the most important manufacturers and importers and the IT Association and the Association of Importers of Audiovisual Technologies.
SEWA is diversifying its activity and offers electrical equipment manufacturers additional services in the area of fulfilling legislative obligations for batteries and packaging.
SEWA implements an integrated management system according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 specifications.
SEWA obtains the EMAS certificate and thus becomes the first collective organization to offer its services in the commodities e-waste, batteries and packaging in accordance with environmental management and EMAS certification (European Community for Environmental Management and Audit), thereby committing to comply with all legislative requirements in the field of the environment, to evaluate, manage and reduce all negative environmental impacts from its activities. SEWA thus became the sixth Slovak company in a row and at the same time the first Slovak company without foreign capital that met the conditions of Act No. 491/2005 Coll. and EC Regulation No. 1221/2009.
SEWA is also fighting for market conditions and lower recycling fees at the European Commission. SEWA submits an official complaint to the European Commission against the Slovak Republic for a discriminatory law preventing the recycling of electrical waste and batteries abroad.
SEWA receives the Golden Magnifier award for the best maintained management system registered in the EMAS scheme.
SEWA becomes a member of the European Recycling Platform (ERP) and thus creates for its international clients the possibility of simplified fulfillment of obligations in other countries as well.
SEWA launches B-boxes, educational cardboard folding boxes designed for collecting used batteries. The first 50,000 pieces are distributed to schools and stores.
SEWA launches representative interior containers for the collection of small electricity in office spaces.
In the sense of the new legislation, SEWA obtains authorization as the Producers’ Responsibility Organization for electrical commodities, batteries and accumulators, packaging and non-packaging products, and thus continues to provide a comprehensive service for manufacturers and importers of electrical equipment in all commodities.
SEWA, as the Producer Responsibility Organization for electrical commodities, batteries and accumulators, packaging and non-packaging products, has extended the relevant authorizations for its activity until 2024.
