In September 2024, a new year of the educational project for primary and secondary schools began.
Also in the 2024/2025 school year, 10 elementary and 10 secondary schools from different parts of Slovakia, that care about the environment, participated in the project.
As part of peer education, pupils and students share information about the life cycle of electrical appliances with their classmates and nearby communities, teaching them how to prevent e-waste and how to dispose of it when it is generated.
School teams, together with a teacher, will participate in a 3-day training course, where they will become familiar with the topic in an interactive way, acquire methodological tools and theoretical knowledge, which they will then use in peer education.
Schools can join the project every year in September via an online form on the ElektroOdpad-Dopad website.
Project in numbers (2017 – 2024):
- 138 primary and secondary schools involved
- almost 101 tons of e-waste collected
- almost 10 thousand pupils and students received peer education
